MEASURING HORIZONTAL BLINDS Click here to enter the Online Quote System Inside Mount - WIDTH: Measure width of opening at top, center and bottom; use narrowest measurement. Do not make any width deductions. Blinds will be made 3/8" narrower for blinds with concealed brackets and 1/2" narrower for blinds with box brackets.
- HEIGHT/LENGTH: Measure height from top of opening to sill. If you prefer blind not to touch sill, deduct 1/4".
NOTE: Finished blind may have a tolerance of +1/8" or -1/8" on width and +1/2" on height. MINIMUM RECESS: For flush mount, recess must be 1 3/8" for mini blinds.
Outside Mount - WIDTH: For windows without trim, measure width and height of opening. Add at least 1 1/2" on all sides for overlap of opening. If there is a sill, measure height to sill and add 1 1/2" for overlap at top.
- WIDTH: For windows with trim, measure width and height including trim. Add 1 1/2" to height to mount above trim. If there is a sill, measure height to sill and add 1 1/2" for overlap at top. Request shims to project blind over trim.
NOTE: Finished blind may have a tolerance of +1/8" or -1/8" and +1/2" on height.
Ceiling Mount - WIDTH & HEIGHT: For window without trim, measure width of opening. Add at least 1 1/2" on sides for overlap of opening. Measure height from ceiling to sill. If there is no sill, add 1 1/2" to bottom for overlap.
- WIDTH & HEIGHT: For windows with trim, measure width including trim. Measure height from ceiling to sill. If there is no sill, measure to bottom of rim.
NOTE: Finished blind may have a tolerance of +1/8" or -1/8" and +1/2" on height.
